Dr. McMillin is a graduate of the University of South Carolina, Summa Cum Laude, and also obtained his medical degree from University of South Carolina, Magna Cum Laude. After his residency at the Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, he completed a fellowship in cornea, refractive and anterior segment surgery at the Cullen Eye Institute at The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. While there, he trained under some of the world’s leading experts in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery.
Dr. McMillin specializes in the management of corneal disease and cornea surgery, including corneal transplant and laser refractive surgery. He finds restoring excellent vision to patients with a corneal transplant to be incredibly gratifying.
Dr. McMillin was born and raised in Kingsport, Tennessee, and as the son of an optometrist, he always knew he would follow in his dad’s footsteps in medicine. While growing up, he enjoyed outdoor activities and they are still very important to him, as well as his wife. They love to take their daughters running with them and are excited about hiking with them in the Great Smoky Mountains.
